(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Body Invaders

by Connie Schulz, Extension Master Gardener/Composter (Cornell ’95) Johnston County, NC

As few weeks ago a community garden contacted me through a mutual friend to help them identify a caterpillar and some eggs cases they found on one of their plants. Although I had seen this phenomenon myself in my garden, I was just as mystified as they were. So I forwarded their photo of the caterpillar and eggs to my extension agent, Shawn Banks. Thanks to the wonders of the internet, Shawn soon emailed me back with two web sites for me to look at. One of them had this little video that’s just in time to share with you for Halloween. I hope you enjoy this garden version of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” It makes a scary Wordless Wednesday, fit for Halloween.
